1. What FaceJam Does
FaceJam is a photo-booth style feed of generative visual experiences. You can upload photos to train an Avatar (a personalized generative representation of a person or subject) and then use Experiences to generate Creations (images and/or videos).
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information we process when you:
-
Create or use an account (including via Apple or Google sign-in)
-
Upload photos or other content to train avatars or generate creations
-
Purchase credits or otherwise transact with us
-
Interact with our Service (including votes, favorites, and support)
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, apps, or services you may access through the Service (e.g., Apple, Google, the App Store, Google Play, payment processors). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information you provide
We collect information you provide directly, including:
-
Account information: name, email address, and account identifiers associated with Apple or Google sign-in (and any profile details you choose to add).
-
User content: photos you upload (including face photos, typically 10-20 images per avatar), any other media or files you submit, prompts or inputs you provide, and the resulting generated images/videos (Creations).
-
Avatar artifacts: model weights and metadata derived from your photos that power your avatars and creations.
-
Experience interactions: favorites, upvotes/downvotes, and related activity signals.
-
Groups: if you join or use a group, we collect group membership and any content you choose to share with that group.
-
Support and communications: messages you send to us, bug reports, and feedback.
3.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:
-
Device and app information: device type, operating system, app version, language, and settings.
-
Usage data: pages/screens viewed, features used, actions taken (e.g., generating, deleting, favoriting), timestamps, and performance diagnostics.
-
Log data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and events used for security and fraud prevention.
3.3 Payment and transaction information
Payments may be processed by third parties (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe). We generally receive transaction confirmations and limited details such as purchase status, product type (e.g., credits pack), timestamps, and internal transaction identifiers. We do not typically receive or store your full payment card details when processed by third parties.
3.4 Information about other people (when you upload their photos)
If you upload photos of someone other than yourself, you are providing information about that individual. You represent and agree that you have all necessary rights and permissions (including explicit consent where required by law) to upload and process those photos and to create and use an avatar of that person in FaceJam.
4. Biometric / Face Data Notice
FaceJam is designed to create avatars from photos. When you upload photos, we process "face data," which includes:
-
Photos of faces that you upload to train avatars.
-
Face-derived data created during processing (such as embeddings or feature representations used to train an avatar).
-
Avatar artifacts derived from those photos, such as fine-tuned model weights and the resulting creations.
We use face data only to provide and secure the Service. This includes:
-
Training avatars and generating creations you request.
-
Storing your avatar library and creations in your account.
-
Detecting abuse, preventing fraud, and maintaining Service integrity.
We do not use FaceJam to verify your identity for authentication, and we do not build or sell a facial recognition database.
Processing and storage: We store your uploaded photos, avatar artifacts, and creations on our infrastructure. We share the minimum necessary inputs (such as training photos, prompts, and avatar references) with third-party inference providers like fal.ai (including Nano Banana Pro) to train avatars and generate images. These providers return streamed outputs to us where we store them in our infrastructure on your behalf.
You can delete photos, avatars, creations, or your account at any time (see Data Retention and Your Choices & Rights).
Important: Laws in some jurisdictions treat certain face-derived data as biometric identifiers or biometric information. Where required, by uploading photos and training an avatar, you consent to our processing of face-derived information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Account data: retained while your account is active.
-
Uploaded photos, avatar artifacts (including model weights), and creations: retained until you delete them or close your account, subject to limited retention for backups and legal obligations.
-
Inference provider payloads: we request third-party processing payloads to not be retained in request history; providers may retain data for a limited period for security and compliance.
-
Backups: deleted content may remain in backups for a limited period (generally up to 90 days) before being overwritten or purged, unless longer retention is required by law or for security purposes.
-
Transaction records: we may retain purchase and billing records as required for tax, accounting, and compliance.
To request deletion, see "Your Choices & Rights."
