Best Professional Headshot Photographers in Los Angeles

By FaceJam Editorial Team · March 17, 2026
Looking for a strong professional headshot in Los Angeles? We reviewed 12 local studios and focused on what actually matters when you are comparing options: portfolio quality, review credibility, booking clarity, and fit for LinkedIn and professional profiles.
When booking a Los Angeles corporate headshot, factor in the city's notorious traffic and parking situations. Studios located right in Downtown LA, like those near 4th Street or the Historic Core, often require extra time for parking garage navigation. If your schedule is tight, consider studios that offer clear pre-session consultations or even remote photography options where you can use your own smartphone under professional live direction. Pay attention to the specific coaching style mentioned in studio reviews. Some Los Angeles executive portrait photographers excel at high-end, editorial-style lighting with intense posing direction, which is ideal for rebranding a company's leadership page. Other studios take a more relaxed, natural-light approach or operate as self-guided mirror studios for those who prefer to work independently. Always check if a photographer includes professional retouching or makeup touch-ups in their base rate before finalizing your appointment.

Google review: I needed updated executive portraits for my company’s rebranding, and Rory delivered beyond my expectations. His studio in LA is professional and welcoming. What sets him apart is his mastery of lighting—he creates a high-end, 'Vanity Fair' style that makes you look both authoritative and approachable. He gave excellent direction throughout the session, which made the process seamless for someone like me who isn't usually comfortable in front of the camera. Highly recommend him for anyone needing professional headshots in Los Angeles. If you are looking for the best headshots in Los Angeles, look no further than Rory Lewis.
Google review: I recently had a headshot session with Rory Lewis, and the entire experience was outstanding. Rory is on another level when it comes to understanding faces, angles, and expression. He didn’t just take photos, he directed, refined, and coached in a way that instantly put me at ease and brought out exactly the look I needed. Rory and Alexandra, his wife/partner, made me feel so welcome and at home. Rory has that rare ability to read a person within seconds and pull out authenticity without forcing it. Every adjustment he made felt intentional and elevated the shot. His eye for detail is razor sharp and you can feel his experience in every moment of the session. The studio setup, lighting, pacing, and overall energy were perfect. I never felt rushed, and he made the entire process smooth, collaborative, and even fun. The final images are easily some of the best headshots I’ve ever had. Clean, honest, expressive, and incredibly usable across acting, publicity, and professional branding. If you want a photographer who knows exactly how to capture the real you, and do it at an elite level, Rory is the guy. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Google review: Great digital headshot service if you're not interested in using AI! You take your own photo (or have someone take it for you) using step-by-step video instructions, upload it, Headshots.com has a real human editor work on it, then it's back to you to approve. I used this as both the administrator for my team and one of the people taking and uploading a headshot, and Headshots.com made both processes very easy. As an admin, I was able to select exactly how we want our team headshots to look (from background color/image to square vs. round, among other options). Turnaround on the photos was quick. Pricing is very reasonable as well. We even have a human account manager to contact with questions or issues. Highly recommend this service, especially for remote teams who might not get together often enough to hire a photographer for new headshots.
Google review: I ordered a headshot from Headshots.com and was very impressed with the result. Their patient team works with you to submit photos that are suitable for use. For me, it took several submissions, but we found a photo that worked. After a few days of waiting, the result was a studio-quality headshot. Their team carefully touches up the photos to remove blemishes and other minor things but not to the point where it looks like those uncanny AI headshots. This was easier and a lot less expensive than going to a studio. If you are working on a budget, I strongly recommend this service.

Google review: Ed did a fantastic job taking headshots and business lifestyle photos for our engineering firm. From the beginning, the quality of the photos on his website and his competitive pricing made him a top candidate in our area. Leading up to the photoshoot, Ed was incredibly thorough. He scheduled several calls with me to discuss the approach and visited our office twice beforehand to scout out the space and meet our team. During these visits, he helped us envision the shots while staying true to our goal of showcasing our company culture through natural-looking mock meetings. He also provided a helpful list of do’s and don’ts for attire and setup, ensuring that our team was well-prepared. His recommendations around lighting, props, and space optimization made a huge difference in creating the right environment for the shoot. On the day of the photoshoot, Ed and his assistant arrived early to set up and immediately connected with our team. He worked closely with our office leadership to keep everything on track and maintain a relaxed, professional atmosphere. Our strategy was to divide staff into four groups for the business lifestyle photos, and Ed made excellent recommendations on group compositions. He emphasized capturing multiple variations to give us a wide range of photos to choose from, and his proactive direction helped everyone feel natural and comfortable in front of the camera. Additionally, the headshots were very clean and professional. Ed and his assistant brought out the best in our staff, engaging with each person to ensure they smiled naturally and felt at ease. Their attention to detail and ability to connect with individuals resulted in headshots that truly reflect the personality of our team. Overall, we were blown away by the results. As the marketing coordinator for my firm, I now have a significant stock of high-quality photos that we can use across a variety of platforms. Ed exceeded our expectations at every step, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience and the final product. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a talented, professional photographer in the LA area.
Google review: Our team was looking for lifestyle/healthcare photographers in the LA area, and we are so happy we found Ed. He is truly a master of his craft and an absolute joy to work with — professional, understanding, flexible, and fun. We had a rather daunting 10-hour photoshoot with multiple sets, locations, and actors, and lots of moving parts. From start to finish, Ed catered to our needs, adapted with ease, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made the entire process seamless. We were blown away by the photos for our client's new website. The quality is exceptional — some of the best I’ve seen. Ed also captured stunning corporate headshots for our client that turned out beautifully. We could not recommend him more highly.

Of course that is not the only type of headshot he does, but we could see from the pictures posted that he captured peoples personalities and made them feel comfortable , which makes a corporate headshot much more warm and natural than the title suggests. Our experience with Armando was even better than we had hoped for. His warmth and professionalism put us at ease right away. Being able to see the photos right away was so encouraging, and Armando makes it fun. Capturely studio preview

5. Capturely

Rating 4.9 (1197 reviews) · Los Angeles
Location: 10951 Huston St, North Hollywood, CA 91601

Studio-quality team headshots in 10 minutes, no studio needed. Capturely connects your team with professional photographers via smartphone. Trusted by Google, Netflix, and 1,000+ companies. The website highlights services such as professional headshots, linkedin headshots, and corporate portraits. Google Maps currently shows a 4.9 rating from 1197 reviews. One recent review notes: I used Capturely to update my LinkedIn photo. This is a remote photography service, not an AI headshot tool. You work with a real photographer through their app. They guide you live while using your phone’s back camera. How to stand. How to pose. How to fix lighting. It feels like a real photo shoot, just done remotely. Quick tip: Have a phone tripod or stand ready. Also, dress how you want to show up. I didn’t, so they used light AI edits to swap my T shirt for a white dress shirt. It worked well, and it’s great they can do that if needed, but it’s better to be ready upfront. After the shoot, the edits are clean and natural. Background swaps look professional, not fake. This is a strong option if you want a high quality headshot without going to a studio. It’s also great for remote teams that want a consistent, professional look across profiles or in their teams webpage. Los Angeles clients looking for polished, business-ready images should consider this studio if the portfolio style matches what they need. Visit studio website

I was hesitant at first but once I decided to do it, I found the entire experience being super friendly, easy, quick and yet professional. The headshots are in great quality, and I got them back very quickly. Everyone was very friendly. Great experience altogether and highly recommended!

Google review: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Working with Nogen was an absolute delight and the headshots are everything I was looking for. He is a real pro in every single aspect. He made me feel comfortable from the get go, and we managed to get so many great looks. Great photos, good energy, it was so fun during the shoot and the results speak for themselves!
Google review: Working with Nogen was an awesome experience. Beyond the fact that the shots came out beautifully (and truly captured what I was going for), the whole process felt collaborative, professional, and fun. He has a sharp eye for detail and an ability to help the actor become present to bring out authentic expressions, which made narrowing down my choices the hardest part (which is a good thing!). On top of that, he’s just a fabulous person to work with: welcoming, patient, and thoughtful. The playlist/music he played was great. Even his dog added to the warm vibe in the studio! I walked away not only with headshots I love, but with the feeling that I’d genuinely enjoyed the process. Highly recommend Nogen to anyone looking for images that feel cinematic, genuine, and alive. I’d work with Nogen again in a heartbeat.

The website highlights services such as linktree (more pdf folios), rollingstone magazine shoot, and medical portraits/reportage. Google Maps currently shows a 5.0 rating from 212 reviews. One recent review notes: An extraordinary experience with Unicorn Productions L.A.! Not long ago, our CEO was being featured in Rolling Stone Magazine’s 30 Under 30 campaign and we needed an exceptional photographer and videographer in Los Angeles who could deliver fast beautiful photos, creative, and editorial-level work. Through word-of-mouth, we kept hearing about Sky and Olya from Unicorn Productions L.A. — a highly-rated cinematic photo and video team known for their government-trained photojournalism background, creative direction, and rapid delivery of professionally color-graded photos. We were told they had covered high-profile events and government parties — even at the British Consulate in Los Angeles — and that their attention to storytelling and lighting was second to none. Every bit of that turned out to be true. Before the shoot, they did their research — discovering that our CEO’s company, WAVE XR, is a leading innovator in the music technology industry. Instead of doing a standard headshot, they proposed a cinematic lifestyle portrait series inside his private music studio. They even set up two cameras for an impromptu interview segment, came up with thoughtful questions on the spot, and handled everything from direction to delivery. The results were absolutely outstanding — Rolling Stone Magazine–ready portraits, over 100 stunning cinematic images delivered within 24 hours, and a beautifully edited two-camera interview video. If you’re looking for the best Los Angeles photographers and videographers who can combine storytelling, speed, and professionalism, look no further than Unicorn Productions L.A. Google review: I first heard about Unicorn Productions L.A. through trusted friends in the L.A. marketing and creative community — and now I know why they come so highly recommended. With over 25 years in global marketing and creative direction, I’ve produced experiences across the U.S. and Europe and have worked with incredible creative talent along the way. Unicorn Productions L.A. absolutely delivers at that same world-class level. They covered two of WUF World’s Saturday Dog Club events at 1 Hotel West Hollywood, and the results were breathtaking — cinematic photos that felt like movie stills and beautifully color-graded videos, all delivered incredibly fast. What stood out most was their presence. They weren’t just documenting the moment — they were part of it. They knew exactly when to blend in for those natural, in-the-moment shots and when to guide guests with ease, making everyone look their best. I later learned they began as photojournalists trained by the British government, and it shows in their storytelling instincts — they don’t just capture faces, they capture feeling. Every image reflects the energy of the event: the décor, the sponsors, the food, the music, and the joy of the guests. We’re already in conversation about future collaborations, and I’m genuinely excited to see what we create together next. If you’re planning a corporate event, branded activation, or VIP celebration, Unicorn Productions L.A. is a team you can count on for fast, cinematic, high-impact photography and film that elevate any brand or experience.

Google review: I am so grateful I found this place! I needed updated headshots to reflect a big hair change and dreaded the process and turnaround time of a traditional headshot session, so I tried this out and am so glad I did. Unlike a normal shoot where I'd feel rushed and restricted by a set number of looks or trying to explain what I'm going for to a HMUA, I got to try on a series of looks that I normally might not have had time for. Recommend having experience with headshot sessions so you can self-direct and know what you're going for. Limited number of backdrops and no monitor to see the shots in real time, but the lighting is fantastic and the mechanism very easy, takes no time at all to get started shooting. Got a lot of great photos I'm very happy with!
Google review: I recently got a 30-minute Headshot Photography session done at Mirror, and I was delighted with how easy it was to do, the facilities and space available to change or do your make up, and the quality of the final photos. The photos also came within an hour of finishing up. As an introvert, doing this by myself was stress-free and let me get into the zone much faster. I'll definitely be coming back.

Google review: Kobe was absolutely exceptional - I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my residency headshots! He has a true eye for detail and understands how to shape lighting and angles to make you look your best, polished, but still authentic. The turnaround was very quick, and he cared about the smallest adjustments I requested. I was genuinely blown away by the final photos!! If you want headshots that are editorial-quality and professional, Kobe is the photographer to go to.

FAQs

The Los Angeles business portrait market is highly diverse, reflecting the city's blend of entertainment, tech, and traditional corporate sectors. Ratings across the top providers are exceptionally strong, with many studios maintaining perfect 5.0 scores from hundreds of past clients. Turnaround times are generally rapid, and several photographers leverage their background in editorial or photojournalism to deliver images that go beyond a standard corporate backdrop.

How much time should I allocate for a professional headshot session in Los Angeles?

Most standard corporate headshot sessions take between 30 and 60 minutes. However, you should add at least 20 minutes for parking and building entry, especially if your chosen studio is in a busy area like Downtown Los Angeles or Wilshire Boulevard.

Do Los Angeles headshot photographers provide hair and makeup services?

While a few photographers might offer minor touch-ups during the shoot, full hair and makeup services usually require booking an independent stylist or selecting a premium package. Always confirm with the studio beforehand if you need professional styling assistance.

What is a remote headshot service?

Remote services connect you with a live photographer who directs you through a mobile app using your smartphone's camera, or you upload your own photos for professional human retouching. This option works well for distributed teams or professionals who cannot travel to a physical studio in LA but still want a polished final image.
